Livelihood development and value chain of Non timber forest products
SURUDEV impacts lives via the valorization of non timber forest products (honey, mushroom, Medicinal Plants). We empower the forest dependent communities through training programs in the choice of tree planting for honey, beehive fabrication, installation, management of the hives, honey harvesting, post harvest management, storage, and connecting them to the markets through cooperatives. We also teach the community members on how to manage honey by-products and sale them. We have a Community Sustainable Mushroom farm whereby we train and equip farmers and other forest users to cultivate mushroom, and to sustain their livelihoods we train them on how to produce, transform and market mushroom. We are equally into other non-Timber forest products.
