SURUDEV Celebrated World Zero Waste Day 2025

World Zero Waste Day 2025 under the theme: Zero Textile and Fashion Waste. To achieve zero waste in fashion and textiles, we need systemic change, including reducing overproduction, sourcing responsibly, and embracing ethical manufacturing. Likewise, extending the life of textiles through reuse, repair, and recycling, along with improving recycling technologies and infrastructure, is crucial to minimizing waste and recovering valuable resources. While doing sensitization to some local fashion designers in Nkambe town, SURUDEV also personalized the theme through the collection of some 1000 waste car tires from the wastewater ways of the municipality which they use for the cultivation of vegetables with local farmers. This is in a bit to reduce [plastic waste in particular, textile and fashion waste and the general waste footprint.
