SURUDEV’S ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND AGRO-PASTORAL EMPOWERMENT OF THE DISABLED PARTNERED WITH CBC-EDID PROGRAM AND THE LILAINE FONDS

SURUDEV in partnership with the Cameroon Baptist health Services CBC-EDID program and the Liliane Fonds trained over 137 parents of children with disabilities within its disability and Environmental education program dubbed “Environmental Education and Agro-pastoral empowerment of persons  with disability (EEAED). The training took place over the national territory covering some six Regions in some 7 centers notably: Bamenda for the North West Region, Bertoua for the East Region, Bafoussam, Foumban and Foumbot for the West Region, Yaounde for the Centre Region, Kumba for the South West Region, Douala for the Littoral Region. A total of 137 parents were trained in five main income generation activities notably: Brooding and fattening of table birds, apiculture, Market gardening and Mushroom cultivation. In all, a total of seven pilot demonstration farms representing all the income generation activities were installed for the learning pleasures of the beneficiaries. Follow up of these activities is still ongoing up to a period of one year.  A vote of thanks was given to the coordinator of the EDID program Mme Agho Glory, The Director of CBC health Services, the Liliane fonds by the Director of SURUDEV for the fruitful collaboration.
